Daft Punk and Skrillex to feature on Kanye West’s New Album?

Daft Punk and Skrillex are among a rumoured cast to be featured on Kanye West’s now completed album, tentatively due out June 18th.

It was Rolling Stone who spilt the beans on this elaborate list of featured artists who will supposedly include members of Odd Future, John Legend, 2 Chainz, Chief Keef, King L, and producer Young Chop. Looks like Kanye has been getting busy playing host over in his Paris studio.

With such a star-studded group of artists working together, expectations for this album are naturally through the roof and the pressure has been set upon Kanye to deliver something amazing.

Kanye West’s good friend and collaborator, John Legend, also spoke on the new album, saying, “His only goal in this whole thing is to make something beautiful – that’s his North Star… From a very early point, back in 2001, Kanye believed that he had something that the world needed to hear. A lot about him has stayed the same.”

Well I must agree with Mr. Legend on that one. With the group of artists Kanye has rounded up for this album, the world definitely DOES need to hear it. I just hope it sounds good.

Despite revealing featured artists, there hasn’t been much talk on the album itself as everyone has been keeping it all relatively hushed, but Thomas Bengalter – one half of the elusive Daft Punk – spoke on a recent studio session with Kanye, saying, “It was very raw. He was rapping – kind of screaming primally.”

Take that as you will, we’re half expecting silly 100+ character track names and features along the lines of “Young Money” feat. Tyler of OFWGKTA, Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, Young Chop & 2 Chainz. Derp.

In the meantime, check out “Runaway” from Kanye’s 2010 album My Dark Twisted Fantasy.
