City of Las Vegas declares Jan 2 as Deadmau5 Day

Deadmau5

Mayor Carolyn Goodman has passed a proclamation officially declaring January 2, 2012, “Deadmau5 Day” in the City of Las Vegas.

The date marks the launch of an exclusive partnership with Wynn Las Vegas, and shows at XS Nightclub kicking off on New Year’s Eve.

Vegas commonly home to thousands of tourists, flashing lights and draining dreams has stooped to a new low in trying to affirm to current trends, this time with popular dance music.

Although we have entirely positive support for Deadmau5 accolades and carrer this may have to be one of the major #facepalms of the year. What happens when Dance Music stops trending?

“Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world and deadmau5 represents the cream of the crop in electronic dance music, the hottest genre of music that has made an significant positive financial impact to the city this past year,” said Sean Christie, co-owner and managing partner of Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub.  “Mayor Goodman’s proclamation of ‘deadmau5 Day’ is an important symbolic acknowledgement of this wildly popular entertainment form that has come to define the best in Las Vegas nightlife.”
