BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong to Play…..Australian Open?

Clearly inspired by last year’s cricket tour by fellow countrymen Basement Jaxx’s tour with Cricket Australia, BBC Radio 1 legend Pete Tong is flying out of his new L.A. home to play at the Australian Open. Flown down under by the Mushroom Music group, Tong joins a daily run of live bands and artists playing at the Heineken live tent as a special international guest, and you can catch the man himself on Saturday January 18 (Martin Solveig must be pissed).

Following a 2013/2014 NYE set at the Palm, Dubai alongside Paul Oakenfold, Axwell, and Emeli Sande the 53 year old is definitely showing off his baller stripes in the new year. Host of the global staple ‘Essential Mix‘ on Radio 1, Pete Tong went b2b with Eats Everything live at the Warehouse Project to celebrate twenty years of Essential Mix on the latest essential mix in November.
