Are You Heaps Decent?

Yeah, well what is Heaps Decent?

Heaps Decent started back in 2007 with Mad Decent founder Diplo at a workshop in the Northern Territory in a small remote town called Maningrida. Fast-forwarding to 2014, Heaps Decent is now a dynamic arts organisation working with young people and emerging artists from marginalised and disadvantaged communities, making unique Australian music and taking it to the next level by making these voices heard. So far Heaps Decent has helped make over 200 songs in their musical workshops, schools, community centres and juvenile detention centres around Australia. With support from artists such as Aloe Blacc, AC Slater, Jack Beats, A-Trak, Brodinski, M.I.A. and more, the charity is now calling out for a helping hand.

So why are we including you in all this?

Representing Heaps Decent, Nina Las Vegas and Levins have launched a Pozible (crowd-funded) campaign to create a label and get their hands on improved resources so that these voices can be heard by a larger audience. The success is already visible with $3000 being raised in less than 48 hours, however they aren’t at the target yet. For more information regarding the full story of the project as well as how the funds will be used watch the video below. THEN, be sure to pledge your support at pozible.com/heapsdecent to help give a voice to young Australians by getting their music heard through this not-for-profit organisation.
