A UK Man Is Petitioning To Legalize Raves After 20 Years of Archaic Laws

A UK man has taken it upon himself to change up a longstanding British law that prevents people from having free parties, something that was created by John Mayor’s Conservative Government way back in 1994 and has since for over 20 years pushed raves into the illegal scope of things.

Christian Morrison the Brit behind the petition, that has already notched up an impression 27,000 plus signatures  believes that regulation is the way to go, offering advice on the roll out of his new legislation that includes Police presence while also pointing out exactly why UK dance fans should be able to boogie on down without the worry of personal harm or that of equipment brought in by professionals be seized or destroyed under the current ‘Criminal Justice Bill’ – bloody cobbers!

We request that you address, in parliament, the appeal for the legalisation of free parties and celebrations of a similar manner. We believe it would be in the interest of all involved to allow the control and regulation of said gatherings rather than merely confiscating thousands of pounds worth of equipment and falsely persecuting a majority of those involved. It would make such events considerably safer which, after 3 stabbings in the last 2 months, is becoming more and more necessary.

In short Christian looks to lift the unnecessary and far reaching laws that apply to all parties and instead fall in line with most other countries around the world that let people enjoy the basic elements of life… music and dancing. The UK for a long time has heralded a strong dance history, as seen in a recent Channel 4 Rave doco series on English TVs and more recently has watched as both Route 94 and Duke Dumont earned UK Chart #1’s respectively.  Add that to the bubbling talent on offer from Disclosure, Gorgon City, Katy B, T. Williams and Skream more and you’ve got to agree that the UK’s got things pretty sorted.

If you’re feeling inclined feel free to sign the petition here.
