Up to 60 Hospitalised From Drugs and Booze at Hardwell Gig in Ireland

Up to 60 people have been hospitalised from drugs and alcohol at a Hardwell gig in Belfast, the largest city in the North of Ireland over the weekend with ambulance services declaring the event at the Odessy Arena a ‘major incident’.

Looks like the Irish got their party on with attendees not only lining up for days in the rain to purchase tickets but needing medical treatment before even entering the venue, with the Odessy’s general manager telling reporters “It is our understanding that a number of patrons arriving at the Odyssey Arena to attend a concert by Dutch DJ act ‘Hardwell’ have required medical attention, having arrived intoxicated at the Odyssey Complex,” adding “These patrons were not granted entry to the Odyssey Arena, and were treated by the Ambulance Service outside. Seven patients have now been transferred to hospital by ambulance.” – preloading.

This follows what seems to be some United Kingdom rivalry as to who can cause the most trouble at a recent Avicii concert in Scotland where 29 concert goers were arrested for serious assault with sources claiming the show was an “orgy of drink and drug filled violence”. Jesus.

.. and you thought the US did it bad.
