Rolling Stone have put effectively put their foot in it by releasing a list of the ’30 Greatest EDM Albums of All Time’ – much like SPIN did back in March by toting Skrillex as one of the great guitarists of all time… derp.

Although the list looks firm in places, the album tag is dissolved with the inclusion of compilations, best of’s and even Skrillex’s ‘Bangarang’ EP at #14 (what the?).

We can be thankful though that the robot heads Daft Punk (all recent rumour stuff here) took the golden spot at #1 and The Chemical Brothers, Moby, Prodigy, The Orb and Kraftwerk all feature in respective places.

At the end of the day though, when you really think about this… it’s a historically rock orientated magazine selectingt a handful of dance and electronic albums the writers probably own – some were hits, others not so much but as always, take it as a grain of salt.

Maybe we hit the nail on the head with our ‘Ten Timesless Electronic Albums’?
