Flume shares oddball GØAT project and electronic driven ‘GØAT TAPE V1’

Update: Doesn’t seem to be the case! Flume created random instagram handles in a caption, an artist created the actual account and posted up some music. Doh!

Australian producer Flume is on a hot streak of late having shared his stacked mixtape back in March featuring slowthai, EPROM and SOPHIE, as well as a single featuring London Grammar last week and now, yet more Flume… but not.

The latest music from Sydney’s northern beaches lad isn’t actually shared under the standard Flume banner, but rather an oddball pseudonym GØAT with the collection of tracks titled ‘GØAT TAPE V1’ – strange but let’s play.

How’d it all come to light? Well, ya boy Flume shared a pretty adorable ‘gram not long ago declaring ‘Fresh hay 4 the boys’ and encouraging a follow of the totesmgoats1 instagram handle which in turn announced the random project. Simple right?

While the 5-tracks compiled for the ‘GØAT TAPE V1’ may not have made the cut for the mixtape or latest single with London Grammar, the release is actually prime slabs of electronica that’ll please earlier fans of Flumes.

Hint: Expect rolling beats, off percussive chops, piano stabs and glitched vocals. Dive into the release below!
