New tax means Aussies will be paying more for Discogs orders

Bad news wax heads, you’re gonna be paying more for international orders on Discogs moving forward.

This wet-blanket of a topic comes courtesy of the good ol’ Aussie government, with the Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) on international orders now added on any international purchase, not just orders over $1000AUD like previously. Rough.

Unfortunately, the tax has already kicked off, launching on the first day of the new financial year, July 1st. So what does this mean for vinyl buyers and Discogs? Well, as reported by RA, international Discogs orders for Aussies will have an additional 10% on the total price. This is added on top of an 8% sellers fee which is already in place.

The cons of living at the bottom of the Earth, right?
