Fyre Festival founder cops huge fine and potential jail time!

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Ja Rule run Fyre Festival.

Marketed as a luxury fest with tickets ranging from $4 000 to $12 000, it eventually ended in all the artists pulling out, punters being fed bread and cheese and being left stranded on an island uncomfortable.

Well now it’s back in headlines due to founder, Billy McFarland, admitting to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) claims that he defrauded over 100 investors for $27.4 million USD. The claims could see him face up to a decade in jail as he pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud.

Funnily enough the story will be shown in the form of a doco picked up by Hulu, set to be released in 2019.
