Nile Rodgers has collabed with Mura Masa and Nao and it’s incredible

In what looks to be a resurgence of disco heavy weights Chic and Nile Rodgers and their sunshine laced music, they join Mura Masa and Nao on the BBC show ‘Later… with Jools Holland’ for a joyous performance for the ages.

Whats particularly impressive, in not just the teaming up of Mura Masa and Nao with artists of late, but the musicality of the two in keeping up with disco greats in the live performance. Mura Masa embraces his inner Tom Misch and riffs on an electric guitar alongside Nile Rodgers and Nao effortlessly fill your ears with her strong vocals to deliver on an  uplifting blend of “Disco, soul, r&b with a little jazz…,” as Nile Rodgers very own personal Youtube comment chimes in.

Having Nao and Mura Masa on stage is a great way of engaging younger audiences into new music releases and performances and Nile Rodgers being involved in Daft Punk’sGet Lucky‘ in 2013 we think there is a place for renewal of meshing old with new and we encourage it. Chic is collaborating with contemporaries Anderson .Paak, Stefflon Don, Vic Mensa and more in what we are sure will be synergistic bringing together of worlds in her first album in 25 years called ‘It’s About Time.’

Chic’s album is out September 27th. Check out the video below and let us know what you think between then.
