Imbi The Girl has shared a moving new single titled swell – the first release of 2018 for the Sydney based artist.

Off the back of a massive 18-months that included performances at Listen Out, Groovin The Moo, Big Pineapple Music Festival, Wide Open Space Festival and Festival Of The Sun, swell sees a return of that unique blend of electronica, R&B and hip-hop as Imbi tells a personal story through incredible lyricism and production.

Speaking on the meaning behind the single, Imbi says “swell is about this feeling I get in my chest sometimes. It’s like this pressure that sort of sits and slowly builds. it’s not anxiety, it’s not excitement, not sadness or joy, it’s kind of a culmination of all of that and more. usually I struggle to find a release from the pressure but writing this song really helped me learn to observe it and appreciate the feeling for what it is, I hope it helps others do the same.”
