Curve Ball dealt a ‘curve ball’ with Socceroos clash

B-Side is our latest news section breaking the stories you won’t read about anywhere else. Hard hitting news off the back of a truck that we published without fact checking.

Curve Ball 2018 is fast approaching, in fact it is tomorrow, and the question has be raised: Will the Socceroos game be on the tele?

The Fuzzy Events festival, now entering it’s 3rd year since conception, will be kicking off from 3pm tomorrow afternoon, running well into the night. Of course, for the soccer football fans attending, this has become a real issue, with the Socceroos set to face off with France from 8pm – the first game of their World Cup campaign.

This clashing of football and fezzi is something one local Newtown resident, Jamie Callaghan said is “too much to handle”. “I mean, I love Alison Wonderland, but bloody hell, how can I miss the first game?”

The organisers behind the festival took to Facebook today following a mass of backlash from soccer sensitive attendees, who are demanding the game is projected on the big screen during Alison Wonderland’s set.

“It’s simply not happening. It would go against the whole aesthetic of the thing. Plus just because we are called Curve ball doesn’t mean we are obliged to play the soccer” Fuzzy wrote in their statement, too which they received a plethora of negative responses. “Pretty un-Australian if you ask me” said Toby Chapman, who is both a die-hard Sydney FC and Crooked Colours fan.

As it stands, it looks as though Curve Ball will standing behind their decision to keep the World Cup out of their event, however we will update you as more unfolds.
