Beatport is bigging-up small labels with their new Hype Chart

Beatport has today launched it’s new site feature, Hype Charts, which will enable boutique, independant labels the opportunity to reach a wider audience.

This new move from the music platform was announced back in May, and as Beatport’s Chief Product Officer, Terry Weerasinghe describes, it’s aim is to “strengthen its commitment to developing independent music and labels”.

He added that the feature will enable “top billing to those shining gems that may have previously gone under the radar” and will “encourage the DJ community to dig deeper in the store.”

The Beatport curation team will update a weekly Hype Picks list for their top ten most popular genres (techno, tech-house, deep house, house, drum & bass, melodic house and techno, trance, prog house, minimal/deep tech and psy trance) which will be located on the home page.

Are you happy that Beatport is giving more love to smaller labels and music makers?
