Every time Hayden James releases a new single, we all simply have to stop for a moment and really breathe it in, because this dude has a track record that is like none other. Returning to our earholes today with a poppy new cut titled ‘Just Friends’, Hayden seems to be continuing his mission to keep listeners on their toes with what to expect.

Premiered on triple j‘s Good Nights with Bridgette Husthwaite last night, ‘Just Friends’ sees Hayden move further into the electronic-meets-pop spectrum, blending his renowned production skillset with a more radio friendly tone. If you’re familiar with the vocals, it might have something to do with the fact that Hayden has enlisted Boy Matthews on this track, who you should remember as the driving force behind Duke Dumont’s ‘Ocean Drive’.

Coming off the back of another big year and a massive single in ‘NUMB’ ft. GRAACE, Hayden James is – at least in my opinion – expected for even bigger things this year. Perhaps an album is finally in the works?
