After a busy 2017 dedicated to playing a series of full capacity headline shows around Australia and the UK, in addition to rubbing shoulders with the likes of Alison Wonderland and Wave Racer, the beloved Brisbane producer Young Franco shows no signs of taking a break. Following last year’s slightly grime flavoured ‘About This Thing’ featuring West London’s Scrufizzer, Young Franco has returned once again with a whimsical take on Dua Lipa’s hit single ‘IDGAF’.
Beginning with a set of warm chords carrying the vocals, the track drops into a frenzy of earthy synth chords backed by booming analogue bass line. As the beat reaches its crescendo, the vocals are reintroduced into a bed of creamy chords and skittering percussion, before trailing off into the chorus once more. In the fashion of Young Franco’s quirky style of funk-infused dance music, this remix serves as an inventive reinterpretation of Dua Lipa’s beloved hit single.
Gaining approval in the past from industry giants such as Rudimental, Anna Lunoe, Annie Mac and Bondax, the young producer is definitely set to break new ground in the near future.
