James Blake. Where do I begin. In 2012 I stumbled upon James Blake for the first time, and almost instantly I was blown away with his voice. i’m sure I speak for everyone when I say that hearing James Blake for the first time is a sensation up there with sex and and chocolate.
Come February 2013, Blake uncovered what quickly became my favourite release from the London crooner, with ‘Retrograde’.
The lead single of his 2013 album Overgrown, ‘Retrograde’ showed not only how versatile his staple vocals and production skills were but also his immaculate taste on visuals, enlisting Martin de Thurah for the official music video which still gives me goosebumps nearly 5-years on to the day.
Revisit the stellar music video for ‘Retrograde’ below, and enjoy those goosebumps with that haunting synth rolls in.
