Korky Buchek return with a saucy new EP

This came pretty late in the year, but Korky Buchek’s new EP ‘Enter the Kork’ ain’t gonna make too many year-end lists as much as it will be blasted through speakers to light up outside parties.

The opener starts us off with them showing their pop/R&B sensibilities. With featured vocals from Kwame, the track follows a fairly straightforward pop structure with verses that are more lowkey before entering a wonky, trap drop. The next track, aptly titled ‘RingRingPussy’, is a straightforward, no BS banger. Simple, but damn infectious with a super funky bassline that powers the drop. Rapper Big Red Cap, who we are not familiar with at the moment but god damn, his verse has us hooked on whatever he will do next, this track is straight fire, creative alternative hip-hop. Things are dialled back a bit with the closer ‘Midnight’ with vocals from Sila, which is a sweet, little tune with smooth, softer, trap production.

Peep this, it’s not too long and a great vibe-setter. A good blend of hip-hop, electronic and R&B from local dudes, don’t sleep.
