Berghain big fella Sven Marquardt launches experimental playlist

Perhaps the most widely known bouncer in electronic music – Sven Marquardt, mostly known for being the gatekeeper of the infamous Berghain in Berlin, has released his own compilation  of experimental videos, movie clips and songs for The German television station STRRR.

What isn’t widely known about Sven is that he is actually an accomplished photographer. Having previously released a memoir and has been allowed to exhibit artwork at numerous galleries around the world and having seen one of his exhibitions i can honestly say that Marquardt’s curation skills extend far beyond the club scene which makes him the right man for the job.

The hour long video playlist includes music from Iggy Pop, Radiohead, Portishead, Nine Inch Nails and more.

When asked about how he chose what to include in his playlist Sven said, “I’ve browsed through Youtube, my favorite video troves and film clips that have inspired me in my work and triggered feelings.”
