Melbourne duo Kult Kyss may not be a household name just yet, which is a shame but an issue that can be easily solved. First step towards fixing this, check out this impressive piece of tech-house they have released called I Am One. Then continue to keep an eye on them as they continue getting regular support from triple j, and follow up on their win of FBi Independent Artist of the Week.
This track is an experimental take on techno, fusing lots of dark and noisy elements into a hypnotic loop. The show analogue worship with organic percussion and industrial textures that aren’t too abrasive, but are nonetheless quite confronting. The dark, raw vocals fit nicely with the aggressive instrumentation, melding together to create a frightening but intriguing sound overall. It’s a pretty awesome sound design they have going on, and could be refreshing as an edgy addition to Australia’s electronic music scene.
The duo are set to play their first ever live shows in Early 2018, including a festival showcase at By The Meadow, Victoria. So get on this group now, they’re just babies ready to grow into heavy-hitters.
