Hip-hop/Electronic producers Lunice and The Alchemist teamed up on an extraordinary EP dubbed Moving Parts. The pair combined their strong production and songwriting skills to come up with a whopping 8-track EP that experiments with a lot of sound design and wonky beats.
Lunice and The Alchemist shared a video to their socials allowing fans to dive behind the scenes and learn about the story behind their monster collaboration. The prolific producers were recruited by Red Bull Music and asked to write an EP for Red Bull BC One – an annual breakdancing competition run by the energy drink company.
“We’re working on a record for the Red Bull BC One…it’s a break dance competition and they decided to commission us to work on a new take for them to break on…a new rendition of break beats.”
The video explains how the boys have tied their production skills with the movements in Hip-Hop dance and have come up with a fresh and new take on the world of traditional breakdancing.
The EP itself is incredibly well-put together. Moving Parts explores different styles of Hip-Hop, RnB and Future Beats and grabs elements from each genre to create a genre-bending project.
Lunice is currently down under testing out some new material at Alison Wonderland‘s Scarehouse Project that kicked off last Friday. Lunice will be making his way around the country to deliver mind-blowing sets along with other supports.
If you’re after a sneaky sideshow, Lunice will be playing at Sosueme. – Beach Road Bondi this Wednesday for free alongside Danger, Matka and 66 Sex Robots. Wanna check it out? Keep an eye out on their Facebook page for all the details.
