Alison Wonderland may have just dropped the hardest track of the year

Our local electronic powerhouse Alison Wonderland has unleashed a behemoth of a banger called ‘Happy Place’, it’s quite a large EDM intake this one. She just wrapped 23-date US tour that solidified her status overseas, and because she’s not tired after that she’s coming back to headline This That, so now to follow up on this hype she’s dropped one hell of a track.

If this track is Alison’s idea of a ‘Happy Place’ then she must be one hell of a person to party with. It starts off seeming unassuming, with her charming, lucid vocals over some warm synths, but once the hook kicks in then the track turns into a wild EDM trip. The blaring synth chords are in your face and punchy, which work well with her powerfully (almost) yelled vocal delivery that slays hook. The drop can go toe to toe with TNGHT or Jack Ü, with it’s mind-bending wonky trap beat and warping bass coupled with a high-pitched vocal sample of her own voice that is unrelentingly loud. This track is one of the most vibrant, colourful, and instantly banging tunes we’ve heard in a while.

She’s got a lot of big plans for 2018; an album on the way and her Wonderland Warehouse Project that kicks off later this month – parties with “No lockouts, no noise restrictions, only a hell of a lot of fun”. Get ready for Alison season!
