Anderson. Paak and Knxwledge announce NxWorries remix album

Around this time last year, the passion project of modern soul legend Anderson. Paak and Jazz-rap beatmaking extraordinaire Knwledge provided us with some unforgettably smooth and sexy jams on their debut record as NxWorries titles Yes Lawd. Today, we just got a little taste of what’s to come on their forthcoming remix album that’s out next month with a re-working of their track “Best one”.

This new version of ‘Best One’ is a little less funky and rocks a different type of groove, but it’s no less chilled out or smoother than what we usually get dished up from these two. Knwledge must be really putting his head into his laptop for these remixes because the production chops here are nothing short of remarkable. He’s working with a more atmospheric soundscape of lush chords and tip-toeing percussion, rather than the big funky rhythms that won us over on the original. But the Stones Throw favourite is a man of versatile skills and thus what he’s done here is just as awesome regardless of the change.

November 17th will be the date that the entire remix album drops, and we’re going to return to their debut Yes Lawd and bump it in the meantime to remind us why hip-hop needs these two together.

Check out the remix of ‘Best One’ below for now.
