South Australian mates, rejoice, you’re getting a shit hot music festival this year featuring the likes Senor Coconut, Holly Herndon, Wolf Eyes and more.

The multi-venue Unsound Adelaide will be making it’s return next month, with the main musical acts performing at the Thebarton Theatre, while there will also be a sound art exhibition in the Botanic Garden greenhouse and a series of talks at UniSA’s Hawke Centre.

An opening party will kick off the festival on Thursday, November 16 at the Botanic Gardens’ Bicentennial Conservatory, which is also the venue for Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement’s sound installation, while the talks program, presented by UniSA’s Hawke Centre, is yet to be announced.

“It’s a world of its own. It has a gigantic following,” former Adelaide Festival director David Sefton said.

“Often in Australia what you get is the more commercial, mainstream dance music festivals and what Australia hasn’t really had before is something like this, which is about the more interesting and more experimental end of electronic music.”
