Some of our private Spotify playlists are home to an obscure mix of tunes, from guilty pleasures to hard hitting bangers. For me, it can bounce from The Spice Girls to Migos in a heartbeat, which is quite a hefty jump.
Strangely enough, there is a website that builds you playlists that seamlessly blends one artist into another, floating through the genres in a way that is pretty much unnoticeable.
Called Boil The Frog, the site lets you choose any two artists – legit any – and then scours Spotify to create a playlist that bridges the musical gap. The ultimate playlist maker has been found.
We gave it a crack today with two contrasting faves, Flume and Metallica, and it only took 19 songs to bridge the two, including songs from Chet Faker, Glass Animals, Kate Bush, Genesis and Deep Purple among others.
Sound cool? Check our Boil The Frog for yourself right here. I wonder how many songs it would take to blend Enya with Megadeth?
