UZ shares debut album and reveals his true identity

UZ has released his debut album ‘Layers’. Paired with the release is the much anticipated true identity of the The Quality Goods Records head-honcho, who until now kept it secret.

The nutshell, he goes by the name ‘G’ and he is French.

Speaking on the revelation of his identity, UZ writes: “At the beginning of the project it was fun, but also really difficult to keep the identity secret. I had to hide, not speak too much, be discreet, walk behind everybody, and wait until everybody had gone to be able to leave the club. I mean it was a whole process, people had to sign NDAs and not talk about me. After a while I felt kind of isolated, and often had to stay alone. It started to bother me a little bit. I never really wanted to reveal but I wanted to have more contact with people.”

In terms of the album; ‘Layers’ consists of 12 tracks that delve into the styles and influences of UZ that we were yet to see from him in the past. This is certainly an unmissable album and a landmark release from Quality Goods.
