Police confirm they will be out in numbers at Splendour In The Grass

For those who are considering getting up to mischief this weekend at Splendour In The Grass, we recommend you take note that the Police will be a heavy presence.

A recent Facebook post from NSW Police confirms that they will be out in numbers for a “high visibility operation” over the festival weekend, with officers perusing the grounds in uniform, regular clothing and with dog-units.

Speaking on the close working relationship with the festival, Detective Superintendent Wayne Starling said “We want everyone to have a great time but we won’t tolerate behaviour that risks the safety of others.”

“Festival-goers who choose to do the wrong thing, breach the event’s terms and conditions or risk the safety of other music fans, will be quickly identified and dealt with accordingly.”

XXX of YYY performs on stage during the Parklife Music Festival at Moore Park on October 3, 2010 in Sydney, Australia.

He added that “those who try to bring illegal drugs into the festival can expect to be caught and dealt with swiftly by police, and anyone who attends the festival affected by drugs or alcohol may be refused entry… Recreational drugs are illegal, dangerous and potentially life-threatening, especially when combined with alcohol so I urge everyone to behave responsibly”.
