Australia has a new name in Hip-Hop who is switching things up

Is Aussie hip hop a little stale right now? Sydney rapper Can Okan thinks so and his Facey’s causing a bit of a stir.

He’s just released “W’sup” the first song off his upcoming debut album. The music video starts off with a small skit ft. popular comedian Neel Kolhatkar and Ben Hunter as rappers embodying some stereotypes of Aussie hip-hop.

The track itself has a dark, 808 infused beat laying the foundation that is rapped over with a lyrical style that seems uniquely Can’s, but let’s not get distracted from his message.

The video has over 70k views on Facebook with countless nobodies coming out of the woodwork to both dis and respect the sound.

Check out the video below and tell us what you think, is the Sydney rapper right, or is his sound just another cut copy?
