Triple J Has A New Music Director!

10-years on and Richard Kingsmill looks set to hand the reigns onto what is arguably Australian music’s most important job… Director of music for triple j.

Stepping into the hot seat is long time prodigé Nick Findlay who has spent over eight years working underneath Kingsmill as assistant music director at the ABC.

The shake up sees a number of exciting promotions including Gemma Pike slotting in as assistant music director and Kingsmill taking on a wider directive role as overarching Music Director of triple j, Double J, triple j Unearthed and if ya flip over to the AM, ABC Local Radio.

On Kingsmill’s promotion, ABC’s Head of Music Chris Scaddan quoted to the Industry Observer;

“This recent change in job titles is a recognition of the way the teams have been working for the past two-three years, since the introduction of Double J and the added responsibility of the team to program music for ABC Local Radio.”

We’re excited to see what Nick adds to the station!
