The horrid realisation that I am getting older is never more apparent then when I go on the hunt for Stoney Roads’ weekly throwback track, and realise that some of my all-time favourite tunes are now well and truly ancient. Feels.

That is once again the case with his week’s selection, the Skrillex remix of Benny Benassi’s ‘Cinema’.

Released in 2011, Skrilly – who was still new to the electronic scene after the release of his massive debut LP ‘Scary Monster And Nice Sprites’ – turned the Benassi original into a timeless wub-fest, loaded with clanging instrumentals and distorted vocals that played the contrast to the soothing chorus line of the original.

I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that seeing this live at Creamfields in 2011 was something special.
