Vallis Alps have finally shared with us their hugely anticipated sophomore EP, ‘Fable‘. The Sydney-based electronic duo, comprising of Canberra vocalist Parissa Tosif and Seattle producer David Ansari, first came to our attention with their self-titled debut EP in early 2015. Their breakthrough single ‘">Young‘ earned them a spot at #27 on Triple J Hottest 100 in 2015 and saw the pair top charts and sell out headline shows.
Released just this morning, ‘Fable‘ adds two new songs to the previously released and already much loved singles ‘Fading‘ and ‘East‘. ‘Serity’ is a beautifully-crafted story-teller, creating a cinematic atmosphere which dramatically drives towards an earnestly introspective climax. Meanwhile, ‘Run‘ really showcases the duo’s sensitivity in seamlessly integrating clever production with delicate yet compelling vocals. The track matches celestial chords and playful arpeggios with Parissa’s melting vocal harmonies, balancing together an uplifting serenity. Combined, the 4-track EP forms an eclectic yet cohesive body of work.
After just returning from their North American tour and still in the midst of their sold out Australian tour, Vallis Alps will keep the momentum going with a second run of USA shows starting in May. Not to mention, the pair will make their US festival debut at Lightning In A Bottle and join the monsterous Splendour In The Grass lineup, rounding it all off with a sneaky headline show in London in August.
