Jai Wolf knew that when he handed the reins to Howle for a remix of his chilled out electronica track “Like It’s Over” that he would produce something good.

“I first discovered Howle through… Manila Killa who was showing me his tunes. I really liked what I heard so I wanted to see what he could do with it [Like It’s Over].”

Today we’ve been given the job of premiering this rework and the short truth is, it doesn’t disappoint. Taking a hollowed out stripped back approach, Howle’s given the tune a super laid back feel that gives the original a run for its money.

But that doesn’t worry Jai Wolf, who’s stoked on the track saying he loves the style. “I love how he took a minimal approach to the track and mellowed it out.”

Speaking on the remix, Howle says he “worked through a few different versions of the remix before I decided to write an instrumental that contrasted all of the things about the original that I loved. Rather than keeping it dreamy, bright, and high-energy, I chose to completely reinterpret the context and emotional quality of the track.

My version of the song feels a lot more minimal and downtempo, and I think the MNDR vocal complements those qualities beautifully.”
