Sydney Has A ‘New Anthem’ And It’s As Cringeworthy As You’d Imagine

We’re going to apologise in advance for this pure cringe you are about to endure, but you’ve simply got to see it.

Sydney.com has shared a music video on their official Facebook page, and they’re calling it the “new anthem” of the harbour city. Nuff said, right?

Typically, the music video has got to be one of the most uncomfortable things we’ve ever watched, with the singers – local duo Jess & Matt – looking awkwardly back-and-forth as they refer to each other as being like ‘Sydney to me‘. I mean, what is that? That’s not a thing. Does Sydney.com think people are going to start referring to loved ones as being ‘like Sydney‘?

“I love you darl, you’re like Sydney to me”

“What a nice smile, such a Sydney type smile you have!”

In short, no. But in reality, we’re glad this exists, because – much like tourism NSW’s painful attempt at a night out in Sydney last year – calling on ‘celebrities’ to make something cool just doesn’t always work!

If we could give this song a musical comparison, it’d be like The Chainsmokers meets Gladys Berejiklian.

Watch the video below, and again, we’re sorry.
