Renowned Berlin Venue Berghain Is Opening A New Floor

The illustrious and ever-exclusive Berghain has confirmed the opening of a new stage within the famous confines, named Säule, which translates to “pillar” in German.

This anticipated new section is set to open on March 23, and is rumoured to be located beneath the ground floor, hosting more experimental house and techno acts. Kicking off the opening night will be an impressive list of artists, such as Alessandro Adriani, Deena Abdelwahed and Natalia Escobar, with the likes of Dis Fig, Illum Sphere and Laura Clock set to perform the following night.

It’s good to see Berghain – which is pretty much the apex of nightclubbing on a global scale – is still getting even bigger, and likely more exclusive. I guess they have a reputation to uphold, one that even results in an official board game and a virtual entry simulator.
