Annual awards show Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (Or the KCAs) honours the year’s biggest television, movies and music acts, as voted by Nickelodeon viewers. Since the first awards ceremony in 1988, the show has featured numerous celebrity guests and live acts, making the KCAs one of entertainment industry’s most cherished events.

This year, the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards have added a new category for voters…Favourite EDM Artist/DJ.

Yep, EDM has climbed its way up the mainstream ladder as young tweens have naturally gravitated towards EDM producers such as Martin Garrix, The Chainsmokers, Major Lazer and DJ Snake. The growing trend has been observed and discussed by the producers of Nickelodeon as they grouped and made a decision to add the category to this years show. This year’s nominees include Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer, Skrillex, DJ Snake and Zedd.
