Just A Gent Lets Us In On 5 Up-And-Coming Aussie Producers To Watch

About 2-years back Newcastle’s Just A Gent won our Stoney Roads award for best up-and-coming artist. In the time that has passed, the now 20-year-old producer has cemented his name among Australia’s elite dance music connoisseurs, releasing his debut EP ‘Stories To Tell’ late last year that is home to a plethora of blissful tracks such as Rolling Dice and Loaded.

Now well and truly into 2017, and with a show this weekend at Brisbane’s hub of dance music, The MET, we caught up with Jacob to pick his brain on the topic of Australian up-and-comers, to see who he believes are some producers to keep tabs on.

Here are his top 5 Aussie artists to watch:

Herzeloyde

Herzey is gaining momentum but this dude still isn’t known by enough people. His production skills are off the chain and he is a fellow FL studio user and an all round legend.

Yvng Jalapeño

Been following Jalapeño since the project started, if you haven’t heard his Ra remix yet, you must be living under a rock. His new track Kai is a game changer, uses them middle eastern samples so well, check it.

ANH

found this dude a while back, his productions are so clean, I love how well his drums push through the mix in all of his tracks. He used to go under the alias Yung ANH if you wanna find some of the gems

notpil

I first heard of notpil when he made a track with the legend william. on thre virgo remix. His latest piece flamingo is such a banger. Everything he dishes out is creative and clean.

Leotrix

Leotrix has been making some seriously fire tunes lately. He is only 17 from Sydney and he loves to include skype samples in his beats.
