The late J-Dilla has built a legacy that is unmatchable in the hip-hop/beat-making scene, that much you cannot argue, and to celebrate what would have been his 43rd birthday, even more unreleased tracks have been unearthed.
The two tracks have been included in the soundtrack of a new documentary titled The Unseen — A Detroit Mixtape, a film that sheds light on the hip-hop scene in Detroit. The soundtrack has been crafted by fellow Detroit producer Ta’Raach, and includes music from the likes of Quelle Chris, House Shoes, Nick Speed among others.
Dilla’s contribution to the soundtrack comes in the way of ‘Ghetto Wish’ and ‘G Rhodes’, both of which harness that classic, eclectic edge to hip-hop production that makes his music so timeless.
