This Documentary Tells The Origin Of House Music And Frankie Knuckles

“For three decades and counting, house music has grown from an underground dance scene to a juggernaut that has reshaped the soundscape of planet earth.”

That is the opening sentence for an unearthed documentary on House music that popped up on YouTube last month.

The 35-minute film goes in depth into the history and evolution of one of the longest standing genres of dance music, as well as the pioneers that helped forge it, particularly the late Frankie Knuckles.

Along with a list of legendary house music figures, the narrator conveys in detail how Knuckles found his feet in the clubbing world, and helped build one of the most popular music cultures in existence.

Without spoiling too much, watch the video below, and enjoy the history lesson.
