Gorillaz Share First Single From Their Forthcoming Album!

Patience truly is a virtue when it comes to music, and it has definitely paid off with Gorillaz finally releasing a new track and a taste of their forthcoming album.

The song, titled ‘Hallelujah Money’, is a slow, soothing but political cut from the UK group, who have teamed up with English poet/singer Benjamin Clementine on the song.

The music video is powerful but to be expected from Gorillaz with a track record such as their own, with Clementine being depicted in a Trump Tower elevator, reciting his lyrics as some rather disturbing and straight up weird visuals flash around him.

Throughout the visual showcase, the shadows of Gorillaz band members pop in and out in the background as well, as both they, the gospel choir and Clementine they recite the chorus.

With such a Trump-heavy theme in the song, it really makes sense as to why they dropped this song today. A representative from Gorillaz writes: “The band has issued this song on the eve of the Inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump to serve as commentary on a politically-charged, historical moment. #wearestillhumanz

As exciting as this all is, there has been no further update on the release date of their album. But at least we have one song to go off for now. Check out ‘Hallelujah Money’ below, the first offering their coming album, and tell us what you think of it.
