FBi Radio has appointed a brand new Music Director in Amelia Jenner.
Jenner is a bit of local around the FBi office, starting up as a contributor in 2012 and presenting on air since 2014. She currently hosts The Bridge on Wednesdays and Body Promise which airs on Monday’s on their dance music focus channel, FBi Click.
Speaking on her new role, Jenner says “FBi has been a very important part of my life since moving to Sydney seven years ago. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would get to play such an integral part in shaping the sound of the station that means so much so many people.
She adds that “It’s an enormous responsibility, but I’m ready to take on the role with the respect and dedication it deserves. With an amazing crew of staff, volunteers and supporters, it will be an honour and a privilege to help lead the station into the future.”
For those unsure of what the role of Music Director entails, they basically curate all the music on the channel. Jenner will be the third Music Director since the community radio channel’s birth back in 2003, taking over from Stephen Goodhew who was in the role for four years.
Goodhew is more than happy to pass on the torch to Jenner, explaining “through her work at FBi and the wider industry, Amelia has become a trusted figure, known for her keen ear and her passion for local music. I’m excited to see where she leads the station going forward and know that between her and the rest of the team, the station is in the best possible hands.”
FBi’s Managing Director Clare Holland is “delighted about this appointment” saying “her enthusiasm for musical discovery is infectious and her commitment to diversity is exciting. She shows a passion and connectedness to the many creative communities and audiences FBi represents.”
Jenner will officially be taking on the role from Jan 23. Congrats m8!
