Melbourne Duo Kllo Gets A Mall Grab Rework

Words By Sarah Tonkin

Electronic duo Kllo, made up of Melbourne natives Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam, released a pretty spectacular and ambient tune a few months ago titled Walls To Build. The pair were praised and received a number of positive comments and clocked up 174k plays on their SoundCloud since then.

‘A pleasant and fluid pop tune that blurs lines between R&B and two-step, with Lam’s production soaring subtly beneath Kaul’s gossamer vocals.’ – Pitchfork

‘As retro-garage exponents go, it’s as exquisite as early Aluna George, with extra experimental flourishes to prove their underground credentials.’ – The Guardian (New Band of the Week)

Kllo went on to release their hugely anticipated Well Worn EP in August which saw Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam amass over 10 million plays on Spotify. The EP established Kllo recognising them as a refreshing and new project in the electronic music scene.

Handpicked by the duo themselves, Kllo appointed up-and-coming producer/DJ Mall Grab to take over remixing duties of Walls To Build.

Mall Grab accepted and he delivered.

Mall Grab added his twist onto the track injecting depth and a driving bass allowing the remix to showcase both Mall Grab‘s talents as well as Kllo‘s cross-genre appeal.
