Everyone’s favourite Canadian Kaytranada has recently dropped some knowledge on the internet, speaking with Red Bull Music Acadamy in his hometown of Montreal.
The nearly 1-and-a-half hour lecture delves into almost every possible question you have ever wanted to ask the eclectic producer, particularly the work process of his debut album, 99.9%, and how he goes about collaborating with some of the big names he has worked with in the past.
On top of this, he also reveals some surprising and impressive facts about his life pre-fame.
Did you know he used to love EDM? Me neither. An interesting takeaway from the interview is that he had his EDM moment during the formative years of his music making, before he was saved by the French gods, JUSTICE. Remember that track Kid Cudi made with David Guetta called ‘Memories’? That was one of his favourite tunes. The more you know!
