It’s easy to forget at times that Diplo is actually quite a veteran in the music world.
Despite trumping the charts over the past few years, mixing it with the likes of Justin Bieber, MØ and a butt-load of young, up-and-coming producers, Diplo – Wesley Pentz – is no spring chicken. But he’s still one hell of a chook.
Thanks to the ever-faithful Reddit, we have stumbled upon a vintage track from the Mad Decent label-head in the way of ‘Newsflash’; an instrumentally layered track he reportedly produced back in 2004 and then released on his 2009 project ‘Decent Work For Decent Pay‘.
That was twelve years ago! His frequent collaborator Justin Bieber was only 10-years-old! Crazy…
The track itself is a wobbly, trip-hop-heavy effort, showing early signs of what was to come with his Major Lazer, which was began their reign in 2009. There is certainly no doubt Diplo is a taste maker.
