This New App Helps DJ’s Line Up Gigs

Life can be hard for a small-time DJ when it comes to booking shows, but it looks as though this new app has the answers.

AGNT is a new application that allows DJs who might not have representation or much idea of how to get work by connecting them with bookers in order to slot in some gigs.

The app was founded by promoter Viet Nguyen and DJ/product specialist Mike Henderson, and is their answer to getting amateur/small-time DJs out and working.

So how does it work? Much like a dating app, the DJ creates a profile, chooses their genre/s, tech rider info, travel radius, expected fee and allows them to embed music as well. The same works with promoters/bookers, who will trawl through the options until they find someone who suits the event.

In terms of payment, AGNT cuts the fee in half, with 50% of the pay going to the artist upon their booking, with the rest held until the next business day after the event.

It will be interesting to see if this app catches on with amateur DJs on a global scale, but with  DJ app we came across proving less than impressive, it’s comforting to know that some app developers are getting it right!
