Shlohmo has shared a brand new (but old) track in celebration of his debut LP ‘Bad Vibes’ which was released exactly five years ago.
The track, titled ’11_9_10’, is a cut from the same time-frame that ‘Bad Vibes’ was released, that the WeDidIt boss-man has kept in the archives until now.
’11_9_10’ is a brooding, ruminative effort that maintains a slow but captivating pace through the use heavy, lo-fi instrumentation. The track also takes an interesting melodic turn at around the 2-minute mark which is followed by an array of smooth piano keys that wind the track down to it’s end.
This isn’t all Shlohmo is offering us as well. As a special gift for fans he has announced an exclusive reissue of his ‘Bad Vibes’ LP, which includes 3-discs of music, unreleased tracks and a t-shirt! Due out in November.
Looking back on his now 5-year old debut album with The Fader, Shlohmo says “I was 20 years old living in San Francisco, working on my first LP, Bad Vibes. This was one of those tracks that never made it out. Now that it’s been 5 years since the release of Bad Vibes, and 6 years since I made most of these songs, I wanted to go back into these old files and share the unfinished B-sides that no one got to hear.”
