INTERVIEW: Rido Weighs In On His Top 5 Favourite Albums

Prague based DnB DJ and producer Rido is smashing it recently, with a brand new album ‘Rhythm of Life’ due September 23rd via renowned label ‘Blackout’.

You can listen to the track ‘Fade Away’ below. It’s a unique and intricate track, with killer sound design.

Ahead of the release, we checked in with Rido to ask him about his top 5 favourite albums. Here’s what he had to say!
The Prodigy – Experience

‘This album totally changed my life. After hearing “Out of Space” and “Everybody In The Place” I totally fell in love with the rave music. Until that time I had no special taste in music. But hearing such great grooves with melodies, vocals and basslines was something new and special to me. Every single track on this album is a hit for me!’

The Prodigy – Music For The Jilted Generation

‘Right after the “Experience” album this is my second most favourite. Such a wide spectrum of music blended into rock n roll vibe with electronic instruments. Here they managed to cross the genre to the main stream in such a nobles and tasteful way.’

Bad Company – Inside the Machine

‘This was one of the first dnb albums I heard and still is one of the best for me. I remember listening to this album on my Panasonic walkman and wondering how the hell they made it. My favourite track was “Colonies”. I loved the moody intro with movie strings and then from the silence huge bassline came and it dropped totally off the rhythm you expected to drop. Big!!’

Prince Paul – A Prince Among Thieves

‘I’ve always loved hip hop and this album is filled with all the great things I enjoy about music. Great beats awesome samples and sick rhymes with proper flow.’

The Prodigy – Fat of the Land

‘Another classic from Mr. Howlett. I have to include their 3rd album as well because he proved again that he is the true Mozart of modern electronic music. So raw but will such a taste for rhythm and melody. Incredible!!!’
