Welcome to the future, folks. We’re officially past the futuristic scenes of 2k15 explored by Marty Mcfly and Doc, the whole ‘Terminator‘ scenario luckily hasn’t played out yet, and we’re like 65% percent sure that we’re not living in the matrix.
So try not to freak out when I let you in on another facet of the internet which is making advances that could spell the end of the human producer *sarcasm,* enter Mubert, which is billing itself to be the “World’s first online producer of electronic music.”
Basically, the team behind this website has crafted an algorithm which can continuously produce music in real time. This algorithm is apparently “based on the laws of musical theory, mathematics and creative experience.”
Like most startups, it’s making big promises; “The future of music … become part of the musical revolution … will eventually become your musical DNA,” and the ilk. And whilst I do chalk it up to be a nice change from streaming or radio, human experience and inspiration will continue to drive electronic music, as it should.
There’s six genres to listen to now! Check out the website here.
