The ever insane yet loveable South African duo Die Antwoord have revealed they are calling it quits.
In an interview with Exclaim!, Ninja (Watkin Tudor Jones) announced that he and Yo-Landi will be closing book on their musical venture as of September, 2017.
“Die Antwoord dies on that day” Ninja explained. “It’s all over. I feel beautiful about it. I’m not scared of the end. I’m a Ninja. I’m not scared of death.”
The news comes hand-in-hand with the release of a bass-heavy new single – Fat Faded Fuck Face – from their forthcoming LP, Mount Ninja And Da Nice Time Kid, which is set for release on the 16th of this month.
Despite the dyer news, they still have plenty up their sleeve, it seems. Ninja revealed that they plan on hosting a massive blow-out exhibition at Cape Town’s Museum of Contemporary Art as well releasing a film, aptly titled ‘South African Ninja‘.
Not to mention they are still set to perform at Perth’s Origin NYE festival at the end of the year.
