Carl Cox To Play First Vinyl Set In 10 Years At Final Ibiza Residency Party

With Carl Cox‘s long-standing residency at Space Ibiza coming to an end later this month, the veteran selector has confirmed he will be closing out the 15-year tenure by playing vinyl.

Interestingly enough, as Resident Advisor report, it has apparently been over 10 years since he has played wax at the Playa d’en Bossa venue. Hard to believe, right?

“I wanted to take things back and pay homage to all those years at Space spinning records. I want to show respect to those older tunes, dig out some of my old vinyl and play them alongside new tunes.” Cox said.

“A lot of the crowd probably won’t have even heard them before, so it’s a way of showing the music is still relevant.”

Carl went on to explain he “thought it was a fitting way to say goodbye. I also want people to know I can still DJ with vinyl and make the house rock. This music has been my life and I want to share it one last time at Space.”

I doubt anyone would challenge his skill mixing vinyl, but this is definitely an exciting additive to what will already be a massive farewell shin-dig.

For those keen to head along (JEALOUS), the final set takes place at Space Ibiza on September 20 and has the line-up of the gods. For more info, click here.
