Barack Obama To Host Music Festival At The White House

United States President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have announced they are hosting a music festival on the lawn of the White House. This is actually legit.

As the relatively carefree President is prepping to hand over the torch, he has decided to live it up a little bit before he moves house. A going away party, of sorts.

The festival is a collaborative effort with the White House and the festival veterans at SXSW, and will be called South by South Lawn. Genius.

Obama has certainly had his mind on the more creative side of life lately, with the recent release of his Presidential playlist for Summer, featuring a wide range of artists such as Frankie Knuckles, Chance The Rapper, Beach Boys and even Australia’s Courtney Barnett.

The festival is set to take place in October and will feature music, film and interactive components held at The White House. There is no lineup released as of yet, but we can rest assure the President will be pulling a few strings. Find out more here.

The Obama’s are really living it up. However I think a festival on Air Force 1 would be more impressive but a little too intimate.
